Dear Members,

It is with great sadness that we have recently learned of the passing of Madeline Jones of British Columbia. Madeline has been a member and was an honorary member for over 40 years of the FCEA.

We will miss her smiling face and great wisdom. Her dedication to the FCEA over the years has been nothing short of admirable.

Here is a video of Madeline making a speech at the FCEA AGM in Ontario in 2022:

Madeline will be sadly missed and we appreciate all she has done for our association. Our condolences to her family.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Hoogasian

FCEA President

Dear Member,
It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you that our beloved Frank Kovacs has passed away.
Frank came into our lives in 1982 when he shared (with us) his dream & vision to have an association representing electrologists in their chosen field of electrolysis hair removal.
He dreamed of a federal association that would bring awareness to the public; a higher minimum standard for the graduated electrolysis student; an opportunity to obtain liability insurance; an opportunity for continuing education; a recognized Canadian Trademark designation; and camaraderie among the members from coast to coast.
Because of his forward thinking and his unwavering belief in the strength of our profession and the shared belief and cooperation of the individual provincial associations, what started as a dream and a vision became a lasting legacy. Frank became the founder of the FCEA and our first FCEA President. Frank was also the only lifetime Honorary Chairman of the FCEA.
Frank was a wonderful leader and colleague, always professional, respectful and ever the gentleman. For those who knew him best – he had a great sense of humor. We hope that he realized  how much he meant to us as an associate member, mentor and friend. We find comfort in knowing how deeply respected and admired he was by so many of our members.
Frank will never be forgotten. His legacy will remain and continue to guide us well into the future.
We are forever grateful.
May he rest in peace.
